This is a blog to carry on the legacy of Milton & June Wayne. Missionaries from Australia to Japan from 1948 to 1987. But also woven in are stories of both of their ancestors – as much as I have been able to find with the help of others.
Both Milton and June wrote short autobiographies. Dad wrote his back in the 1970’s on an old typewriter and never had much time to edit it. Mom, being more utilitarian, wrote a short 90-page missive on her computer around 2016. After their passing, I wistfully reread these pages and thought it might be fun to try to come up with a way to blend both of their voices along with the memories from all of us who have stories to share.
I refer to them as “Mom” and “Dad” but when I am using their own words I try to show who is speaking when they refer to themselves. Many of you knew them as Nanna and Poppa or Uncle Mit and Auntie June so the names will change accordingly. But in the end, we know who we are talking about – the two loving people we miss so much: June and Milton
